Final payment on a car loan

After you have paid the final instalment or outstanding amount of your car loan and we have received the payment, we will submit a notification of transfer on Traficom’s e-services, enabling the registration of the vehicle under your name. 

If you are not sure when your car loan will be settled, you can easily check the payment date of the final instalment in the online service for car loans. If you wish, you can settle the outstanding amount of your car loan any time during the agreement period. To do so, check the precise outstanding amount and the payment details in the online service for car loans. 

When we receive the payment, we will submit a notification of transfer on Traficom’s e-services, based on which the change of ownership, i.e. registration, can be completed.  

In addition, we will submit a notification on the settlement of the hire-purchase agreement.  You will receive the notification as a digital document in Nordea Omaposti and, if you are a Nordea customer, also in Nordea Mobile or Netbank. If we do not have your mobile phone number, the notification will be delivered to your home address by letter. 

The vehicle must be registered within 7 days of the date of transfer. You do not need to wait for the settlement notification to register the vehicle. You can register the vehicle on Traficom’s e-services once we have submitted the notification of transfer. 

The easiest way to change the ownership is to use Traficom’s e-servicesOpens new window. As we have submitted the notification of transfer, you do not need a digital certificate or other documents to register the vehicle.

The vehicle must be registered within 7 days of the date of transfer. You do not need to wait for the settlement notification to register the vehicle. You can register the vehicle on Traficom’s e-services once we have submitted the notification of transfer.
